Adamson Hill House Living Room

Hello, my name is Matthew Adamson. The home was my father’s before he passed away a few years back after a long and difficult battle with colon cancer. My now-widowed mother takes care of the home, although she lives primarily in Alexandria, Virginia. We rent the property out from time to time to hunters or tourists vacationing in Luray, and we also use the home ourselves when we are able to visit. The destruction caused by these vandals has been devastating to my mother and somewhat painful for me and my brothers to witness.  We associate the Luray home with our beloved father and have many precious memories with him there. Luray was an incredibly special place to him before he died. He went out to Luray almost every weekend and put years of work into the home re-buidling it; he also planted a small vineyard on the property, which was just beginning to bud before his death. We hunted and fished with our father out there, and helped him build the home.

Of course we have some interest in catching the vandals who did this to our home, but more importantly, we would like to get the message out to them that their destructive actions have consequences. This was not just an empty rental home in the woods. It is a home that carries irreplaceable memories of our father. The damage they have caused runs deeper than physical damage to the home. The preliminary estimates indicate the damages are over 50k
